"Red Wolf Barks At Others"
American Red Wolves are the only wolves that can make a sound similar to barking; many compare them to coyotes... that is until they hear a coyote next to a Red Wolf. Their unique vocal cords allow them to make sounds slightly higher pitched and more complicated than say the Grey Wolf. My name is not only just stating what Red Wolves sound like they're doing, it is also speaking about what I have had to do my entire life; bark. Do something that is usually against the nature of wolves, something only humans listen to, just to be heard and understood. I have had to fight tooth and claw, bark until my throat is shot, give everything I have to be heard and understood. I always have to be on the defense and ready to fight for myself and my identities.
I hold my name with honor, and continue the traditions my great grandparents and great great grandparents could not outside closed doors with pride.
Everything I know and continue was taught to me by my grandpa and my uncle, who although was uncle by marriage, felt like blood. Both have since left this world.
I think of them with everything I do.
Everything I do is for them, for my great grandpa, for my great great grandparents, for my great great great grandparents, and all of those that came before them. I
do it to honor them, honor traditions, and honor the lifestyle that sustained our peoples for hundreds of years before the disturbance of the Chemokman.
My family did what they had to to survive, which was run away and completely restart their life.
I'm here to break that running and bark for us. For our existance and our right to live on the land we have lived on for years without fear.
I'm open to questions at any and all times, but please be mindful in your questions. I'm not a sideshow attraction or your token mixed native friend.
Please come to me in earnest to learn and listen. I type and say a lot, so really be ready to listen. I take my role of informing others seriously.
I am also open to doing medicine card readings and giving advice, but I ask for something back for my time and wisdom, as that is the way I was taught, and how our traditions work.
Please don't be shy to reach out to me, I may bark, but I don't bite.
I love talking to and connecting to others first and foremost, and communicate one on one so we can better undertsand each other and how we view the world.
